John Truman's Hideaway-Nightly Rental

My wife and I stayed at John Truman's hideaway for the second time and loved it just as much as before. The keyless entry upgrade was great and I didn't have to worry about losing a key. Check in and Check out were seamless and the bike rentals were perfect. Thank you.

House was clean, rental company (Lynn) was welcoming, accommodating, and easy to work with. Keypad for entry would have been more convenient than adding an extra stop for key pick up and drop off. Potential 5 units would share the pool space, which is quite small with limited seating, but the pool scape was spa like and private, giving great shade and noise cancelling waterfall. Overall, the stay was great.

My husband & I loved the John Truman Hideaway. It was perfect. Close to Duval Street but farther enough away for quiet. We rented an electric golf cart for our stay & drove everywhere sightseeing. We loved having the kitchenette and the king size bed & pillows were comfy. Ice cold AC. When we return, we will def rent here again. Clean, clean, clean! Thank you. Oh and the rental reps were so informative and quickly answered any question I had.

Very clean. All the amenities that you need and more. The pool was an added bonus after all of the days activities to relax in. The only complaint is that we didn’t stay longer. Next time for sure!

John Truman Hideaway is a wonderful location to stay at, a short walk to Duval, the property is small but very well kept. Very Clean, the staff was so helpful, would recommend to anyone that looking for a quiet place to enjoy their vacation. We loved it.... We loved the Moondog cafe and Lost and Found, food was excellent and just a short walk...

We loved the hideaway! For the price during spring break season, and just two of us on our delayed honeymoon - everything was super clean and we were left with cleaning stuff, too. Cannot wait to come back & stay at another location - ALSO - location was great! Pool was perfect.

My husband and I stayed in John Truman's Hideaway for 4 nights in December 2021. We had a great stay and found the location of this cottage to be ideal. We were able to park our rental car and easily explore Key West on foot during our entire stay. The cottage was perfect for two, was very clean, and had everything that we needed. The staff at Historic Key West Vacation Rentals were extremely helpful, providing maps, suggestions, and even coupons for local restaurants and attractions. I would definitely rent from them again and highly recommend this particular cottage.

You couldn’t be closer to the center of Duval Street. But, we felt secluded and enjoyed the fantastic spa in back! The room was spotless and we couldn’t have asked for more.

First off, Cindy, Susan and Annie are amazing!! They were attentive, helpful, friendly and so accommodating. Our rental was immaculate from top to bottom. Located in a great neighborhood and close to everything. The linens were clean and the towels soft and clean. We can’t wait to get back down there!!

What a beautiful place to stay in Key West. We were able to walk everywhere! At times, we were so comfortable in John Truman’s Hideaway, we didn’t want to leave. The cottage and pool is a vacation beyond the amazing surroundings. We even tried to extend our stay. We will be back!

This is an awesome little place conveniently located 1/2 block from Duvall Street. The private swimming pool is great. This unit doesn’t have a washer and dryer or dishwasher. And the air conditioner is a little noisy.
But we had a wonderful time. Definitely coming back. Will book with Historic Key West again.

We would definitely come again and stay in this darling little cottage. We were so close to everything yet felt like we were in own little secluded oasis. The dipping pool was such a delight and the front porch was so inviting to listen to the morning bugle from the naval base. Charming! Simply charming!

Look no further. We absolutely loved this place!! This was our first time to Key West and the location was perfect. We only had one night this trip to getaway and we couldn’t be happier with our stay. We biked around and felt close to the action and everything we wanted to see, yet was quiet enough to sleep soundly through the night. Cottage was clean, upgraded and very well designed. The mini pool in the back is adorable. Susan and Cindy at Historic Key West Vacation Rentals are so sweet and helpful. Made us feel very welcome and comfortable to reach out to them if at all necessary. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot!!

We had the best time staying at the Truman Cottage. It was a very convenient location. The pool was fabulous. It says semi-private; however we only saw one other guests use it. My husband abs I felt like we had a private pool. The cottage is very updated and has everything you could ever need. The loft area was nice and not mentioned in the specs of the cottage. We put our luggage up there. It was quiet at night even though you’re so close to the restaurants and bars. The rental agency was there to provide any assistance needed for tourism or just your stay in general. I have already recommended the place to 3 of my friends that inquired about it. We had the best time spending a week there!!! Highly recommend!!!

We stayed here for 4 nights and loved the location. Easy walking distance to either end of Duval and just far enough off the path to be quiet. Great little pool and deck, very clean and new. We would recommend staying here any time.

Fantastic property and location, very quiet and private with a pool that was totally relaxing and private even though it was shared with other rentals. Kitchen facilities were more than adequately equipped with a full size refrigerator including an ice maker. Our second stay!

This is a tiny house that is essentially brand new with a cool decor. There is a second bedroom in the loft. The pool in back is more like a nice hot tub. It's shared with the other unit, but worked out great while we were there.
