Frequently Asked Questions
When is Key West Pride?
Key West Pride is a five-day celebration held each June, presented by the Key West Business Guild and Gay Key West. The week is packed with talent shows, pool parties, drag, sunset sails, and a street fair along the 700–900 blocks of Duval, and it culminates in the Sunday-evening Pride Parade — stepping off from Truman Waterfront, winding down Whitehead and Duval, and ending with a last dance at La Te Da. Exact dates and the annual theme shift year to year, so confirm the current schedule before you book.
Is Key West LGBTQ+ friendly?
Famously so. Key West has welcomed the LGBTQ+ community for generations and made “One Human Family” its official philosophy in 2000. The island draws hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ+ visitors every year.
What is the best area to stay for Pride?
Old Town, Truman Annex, and the Historic Seaport all keep you within walking distance of Duval Street, the parade route, the nightlife, and Guild events — no car required. Historic Key West Vacation Rentals offers homes throughout these neighborhoods, so you can book direct with a local team and stay right where the celebration happens.
What is the Key West Business Guild?
Founded in 1978, the Key West Business Guild was the nation’s first LGBTQ+ destination marketing organization. It remains the alliance of LGBTQ+ and allied businesses that produces Key West Pride and other signature island events.
