Key West’s Thanksgiving weekend tradition returns as the 31st Annual Hog Trot 5K takes off on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Starting and finishing in front of the legendary Hog’s Breath Saloon at 400 Front Street, this spirited charity run is more than just a race—it’s a celebration of fitness, fun, and community spirit.
Running for the Florida Keys SPCA
Each stride of the Hog Trot 5K supports the Florida Keys SPCA, a nonprofit dedicated to animal rescue, shelter, medical care, adoptions, and humane education. Runners and walkers alike make a direct impact on animal welfare across the Keys while enjoying a festive morning in Old Town Key West.

Packet pickup is scheduled at Hog’s Breath Saloon on Friday, Nov. 28 from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM and on race day from 6:30 AM – 7:45 AM.
Race Day Highlights
The 5K run/walk begins at 8:00 AM EST, guiding participants along a scenic Old Town route before returning to the starting line. Finishers aged 21+ (with valid ID) will be rewarded with a refreshing post-race beer, plus access to extended drink specials at Hog’s Breath Saloon.
At 9:00 AM, the awards ceremony honors the top overall male and female runners, Masters division (40+), and the top three finishers in each age group from 0–9 through 70+. A lively raffle with prizes adds to the morning’s excitement.
For safety, no dogs, bicycles, skates, or headphones are permitted on the course. Strollers are welcome but must start from the last corral.
