wonderful property, close to everything
We had a wonderful stay at Chick-a-Pea Cottage. The entire property, inside and outside, was very clean and comfortable. We cooked dinner one evening, which included using the outdoor grill, and the kitchen had all manner of utensils, stemware, cutlery, glasses, etc. necessary for a dinner party. An all-around fantastic stay. The management company stayed in contact to ensure all was well during the stay. I would highly recommend this property. Location is perfect.

chick a pea - chica perfect!
We had a wonderful 5 days at Chick A Pea Cottage. Location was perfect. Short walk to great shopping and unique dining away from the touristy type location. Well appointed and excellent beds/linens.
Communication with HKWV rentals was fantastic. We even left behind a prized stuffed rooster which was quickly located and shipped back to its owner. HKWV rentals also coordinated a golf cart rental which was a great idea for our group - ages 6-91. Would stay here again for sure.

lovely cottage
This is an oasis from busy Duval Street. perfectly located, about a 15 minute walk to Mallory Square, about a five minute walk to the southernmost point. Easily walkable to Hemingway house and Truman House. And beautifully decorated, they thought of everything. Plenty of towels, kitchen, tools, etc. Super responsive to text messaging, reply within the hour, every single time.Would definitely stay here again. (A heads up: the upstairs shower is really only suited for people under 5‘6“. The bedrooms are spacious up there, but that shower style is crazy short. The master shower is nice and tall.)

perfect family vacation stay
This charming, well styled home couldn't have been more convenient. Location is ideal, right off Duval, but quiet.4 private rooms for our family to spread out. Outdoor space was awesome for down time. Renting a golf cart was the cherry on top.

Great property. We were very comfortable & it’s very convenient to walk to everywhere we wanted to go.
Beds were comfy.
Only downside was noise. The pool backs onto a bike/golf cart rental yard & their music and repair noises were pretty loud during the afternoons.

summer getaway
We absolutely loved this house!! Great location, steps to Duval but still a quiet street. A lovely, clean little place with all the comforts of home. The pool is the perfect temp on a hot summer day and the property is very well kept.
The property managers were not only super nice but they are available to help with any questions or concerns at any time. They even offered to find us accommodations if we missed our flight due to the cyber outage. Which for us was not necessary as we arrived by boat. Great people !

a gem of a rental!
This home is one of the best vacation rentals I have ever rented! The house was well-maintained and very well stocked. From extra blankets to plenty of dishes, pots and pans, extra towels, toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, etc. All of the furnishings were comfortable (beds, couches, table and chairs, etc) and the outdoor furniture was also plentiful and comfortable. The location of this house is an A+! Right off Duval Street but very quiet and tucked away. The pool was small but plenty for us to dip in when we got hot. I would suggest asking the pool temp to be lowered during hot months as it was very warm. We didn’t realize we could ask for that. Overall, this was a really great rental. We would recommend it highly!

fantastic key west getaway
This cottage was perfect! It was less than a block off Duval St. we could walk everywhere- to restaurants, shops, etc.... We loved the back/side yard with the pool, the lounge chairs and the cabana. It was heavenly. The pool adjusted temperature so it was cooler in the day and warm at night. It was just superb. This cottage had a nice little kitchen, if you wanted to cook, washer/dryer if you need to do laundry and a dining and living room area. There was a king bed (super comfy), a queen bed (comfy), a room with 2 singles (not comfy) and a room with another single (didn’t use). Plenty of bathrooms. There were numerous towels in every bathroom ready for us to use and beach towels for the pool. So thoughtful. The team was incredibly communicative at this property. Would DEFINITELY stay here again.

chilling at chick-a-pea!
We just returned home from a lovely stay at Chick-a-pea cottage and would highly recommend. We are often visitors to Key West and this was a great cottage for many reasons.
The location is fantastic is being located right off of Duval, but is still exceptionally quiet. You haven't been to KW, this cottage is on the more quiet end of Duval (close to the Southernmost end). There were five of us staying in the cottage and it was incredibly comfortable for a group that size. 6 would be great as well. The small bedroom off the kitchen is bijou, but adorable. Probably best for anyone who is an early riser (or a heavy sleeper) as it opens onto the kitchen.
The combined living room and dining area are well appointed and comfortable. The decor overall in the entire cottage is tasteful, adorable and "beachy" without being over the top.
My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom and the bed was SO comfortable. If you like plush and soft beds, you'll love this one. I find rentals sometimes skimp on beds and was pleasantly surprised to find a mattress that I really liked! Kudos to the owners. We were traveling with my mom and my husband's mom as well as one of my best friends. They all reported their beds were a tad hard but overall okay.
The outside area has a wonderful cabana where we spent most mornings with coffee and evenings after dinner chatting. The pool was perfect and appreciated having four lounge chairs.
The parking area and walk up to the deck of the cottage is gravel. Just something to be aware of with suitcases and if you have anyone older and more unsure on their feet.
The Historic Key West Vacation Rentals property management team were excellent! We had an issue with the wifi and they were incredibly attentive and quick to respond. It didn't get resolved while we were there, but no fault of the management company or the owner.
Would highly recommend this cottage and we'll definitely keep it on o

lovely, clean, great location
This is a fabulous rental and I would definitely return. It’s a pretty house very close to restaurants and shops on Duval Street but its own little oasis. The yard with the small but wonderful “dipping pool” and lovely outdoor seating is peaceful and beautiful and the house was extremely clean and well designed. The management company was highly responsive and helpful. I highly recommend this rental.

great house and location
Rented this house for a 3 night stay for our annual guys' fishing trip. 6 guys in their 50's stayed here comfortably. The house was perfectly located to walk to everything we needed. Didn't even bother to rent a car for our stay. The house was clean, well organized, and the small pool in the back was perfect for cooling off. Highly recommend!

charming key west cottage
The Chick A Pea Cottage was just perfect for a 4 night girls getaway in Key West. The indoor spaces for 4 friends weee perfect, and the small outdoor pool, cabana, and chairs made each afternoon or evening an escape from the heat. The location was ideal as we were a walk away from anyplace we wanted to go, whether sightseeing or dining. There were 3 full bedrooms and one that housed a twin bed and nightstand. The rental contacts were informative, friendly, and were a great resource in preparing for this trip. I would absolutely rent this place again.

Everything was perfect! The property was as described, very clean and well maintained. The location was very quiet (except for the roosters!) and the parking spot was ideal. The kitchen is a bit small but we really only used it in the morning. We spent most of our time in the pool area...it is spectacular!

kicking my 50th in the keys with my flock
I had to wait two years to celebrate this birthday due to the pandemic but it was so worth the wait!!!
I spent a great deal of time looking for the right house for me and sister cousin crew. I needed 5 beds and I wanted a pool. I found three houses but the Chick A Pea Cottage was #1 and the other ladies agreed.
Cindy was wonderful to deal with, emailed me a impressive list that was made up of restaurants, grocery store, live music Venus and so much more! She helped set up our golf rental and answered many questions that my crew needed answered. Unfortunately I was not able to meet her in person on my trip as she was working remotely. Susan was just as wonderful! Offered all the ladies a beverage and they had a cozy place to sit while she and I finished up some paperwork. Susan also had maps and marked what was around our house. Told us what special events were happening while we were there. They held our luggage while and we went down the street for a bite while the house was finished being prepared for us.
The house was the perfect location! Duval Street was no more than 10 steps from the cottage, everything was in walking distance, quiet although houses surrounded us.
All of our beds were quite comfortable, the pool and pool setting was my favorite space. Listening to the birds sing, enjoying the sun and the lite breeze that would come through.
House was very clean, organized and labeled. Well stocked kitchen! Grill outside plus an additional outdoor seating area.
It was the perfect trip and a place I will come back to visit maybe one day live.

duval street oasis
Our group of girlfriends rented Chick a Pea for a long weekend in Key West. What a great choice! We each had our own bedroom and multiple areas to convene for conversation, meals, and a glass of wine. The 1920s bungalow is stylish and completely renovated with all the modern conveniences. The staff is friendly and helpful. I’m an interior designer and it’s not easy to impress me, but this house and it’s thoughtful layout and grounds did. Everything is done right

great family vacation in key west
What a delightful place to stay. We were in the quieter area of Duval Street. Very close to many restaurants, shops and historic spots. We parked the car and rode our bikes everywhere. When we came home we would hop into the pool and played cards in the private gazebo area. We love to cook and the kitchen was equipped with everything needed, also grilled several times. This was perfect because we tried to keep our exposure low during the Omicron surge and we felt very safe. Just an ideal place.

amazing cottage and great service
This cottage is as cute as the pictures show and the yard is even better. They made use of every square inch of the house and the stay was comfortable and private. We had a slight issue with the ice maker and the company 1) sent a guy over immediately to fix it, 2) after fixing it he ran out to get us a bag of ice to tide us over until the ice could replenish, and then 3) they called the next day to make sure everything was still working. So: service from the rental manager was top notch.

key west anniversary trip
We stayed at the Chick-Pea Cottage. It was a perfect experience for us. We were within walking distance from almost anywhere that we wanted to go. But, with the help of Historic Key West Vacation Rentals, we secured a golf Cart for transportation. It made the trip even better. The Chick-A-Pea Cottage was the cleanest VRBO that I have ever rented. Everything that we expected and more was available. I will recommend this house and this company to anyone that is going to visit Key West.

The house was so perfect, had so much key west character, was clean and the pool + patio such an added bonus! The best location to everything! Rental company was amazing, we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house, and Susan came right over to let us in within 10 min! They checked on us throughout our stay, and anything that came up they were very responsive. We had the perfect stay, and plan to stay here for many more trips!!!

fantastic property with service to match
I was looking for a quick getaway where we could be someplace warmer and private but still nearby all the things that make Key West a destination. This house checked all the boxes. The private pool was a perfect oasis and to have four separate bedrooms was a definite plus. When a hurricane threatened to ruin our travel plans, the management reached out to let us know that we could even extend our stay at no charge in the event we couldn't get out. Would absolutely recommend staying here again.
One thing to note: the upstairs shower is under the roofline, so it may not be best if you're extra tall!

spotlessly clean and great location
We had 7 adults (family/friends) and it worked for us. The location was perfect and now there's the Duval Loop bus that helps get to get around (IT'S GOT A/C!!) on those really brutal days. We took advantage of all the tourist spots on the Southern-Most side from this location. The house was clean and every detail was thought of. It was so nice to have the washer/dryer so towels never sat around damp! Everything worked well. The only thing that took a little planning was showering (5 people used the upstairs shower, and 2 people used the downstairs shower). But we were on vacation, and it wasn't an issue until we were ready to leave ... getting ready for the airport. It's a lovely place, the pool was perfect for a refreshing dip and we spent most of our time lounging under the cabana (or in the A/C that was WONDERFUL).

girls birthday retreat
What a gem this cottage is! 6 ladies from across the country traveled and spent time at Chick a Pea together and we could not have asked for a better location or accommodation. Immaculately decorated, laid out perfectly, spotlessly clean, everything we could need was provided. The pool and outside area was so relaxing and pretty we spent so much time out there. We enjoyed our daily Chick visits too! A/C was so cool and comfy, there were plenty of towels and the mgmt staff were extremely helpful through the entire process. We would love to come back again! The location off the quieter end of Duval was perfect and withinin walking distance of so many restaurants and amenities. We had enough parking with one designated spot and roadside.

amazing key west home!! - great location and charm
We loved our time at the Chick-a-pea cottage, the home was beautifully renovated and had pretty coastal decor. Perfect size for our party of 5 and could have even fit a few more! Key West Vacation Rentals were great hosts and even texted to check in a few times to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The pool area out back was a great addition and area to hang out and were just blocks to Duval so within walking distance of everything!

This house was in a great location with easy access to all of the main attractions Key West has to offer. The pool and outdoor space for grilling was where we spent almost all of our time. It was a pretty short walk from the house up Duval to all of the dining and entertainment options, or to grocery shop at Fausto's. I would definitely recommend this rental for anyone coming to Key West.

six days at the chick-a-pea
I would say this was on the quiet side of Duval, and that was great. Short walk to either end as well. The house was clean, the pool was warm, and we were supplied every thing we needed. I would recommend renting scooters for the time you spend in KW. Very reasonable. Also the Fury Adventure trip was a great day, very organized and professional. No stress. Enjoy the Chick-a-Pea Cottage. We are all sad we had to leave.

birthday adventure
The property was wonderful. 50 feet to Duval Street and a 15 minute walk to Caroline's and Hog's Breath Saloon. The location is just perfect to explore the fun spots and great restaurants. From the parking area to the pool to the newly renovated interior this is a fantastic property! So clean, bright, and functional. We brought my daughter and 4 of her friends to celebrate her 21st birthday. My wife's sister brought the total to 8 and this property never seemed crowded. The master faces the road and is adjacent to a large kitchen/common area with a fold out couch. A small but comfortable single bed is off the kitchen side of the common area. It is perfect for a single person. We had a hen siting on her eggs in the foliage around the pool and you get used to the rooster! This was our 2nd rental around the new year with Historic Rentals and everything was perfect. This company does it right. If you have a concern with the pool or ac or anything give Danny a call and he will be there. He is prompt and courteous with a wealth of local info. After checking in received a call from the office to ensure all was well. This company and employees are top notch!

best vacation ever!
This was the PERFECT location for our annual family vacation. Not too far from the main strip off Duval but also far enough away for some quiet and relaxation. The house was perfect for our family and another family (total of 6 guests) with immaculate and upgraded amenities. The pool was essential and ideal after a long hot day and the kids and adults enjoyed both early mornings and evenings lounging around. We would DEFINITELY come back and wish we could've stayed longer! Kudos to the staff at Historic Key West Rental for being so accommodating and responsive!

our little slice of heaven
We came to Key West for a shared family vacation - Chick-A-Pea was ideal for us. Easy walking distance to the happenings along Duval, so we could all come and go according to our interests. We took an excursion day trip to the Dry Tortugas National Park <---- highly recommend! And our little pool - wonderful place of respite to beat the heat. Key West is just loaded with charm and fun, and the cottage being located in the middle of the action, yet secluded and peaceful behind the gate made for a wonderful vacation!

great spot in key west
This house was in a great location right off of Duval. It was maybe 3/4 of a mile from the downtown area but close enough to walk. I think the house size would be ideal for 6 people & maybe 1 child for sleeping purposes go. The master bedroom was large and the bed was very comfy! Upstairs there are 2 rooms, one with a queen and one with 2 twins. There is also a pull-out couch if you have guests that do not mind sleeping in the living room. One of the "rooms" is more like a laundry room, just big enough for a twin bed and an tiny nightstand, good fit for a child not so much for an adult with luggage. The pool was great, perfect size & heated, not a lot of sun if you are trying to soak up some rays. The only things I did not like about this stay would be that check in was 4pm and check out was 10am (no late check out), we also had to go to the property management company to pick up/drop off keys. If you lose any of the keys, it is $400 to replace them because they will need to rekey the whole home. I think for convenience purposes it is easier for keypad or lockbox at the property. I would definitely recommend this property.

fantastic key west getaway
What a fantastic vacation! We loved the house so much, we ended up spending the majority of our time here - cooking in, lounging by the pool - it was just too nice to stay away! The location was also perfect - just outside of the busy part of Duval, so that it was quiet but close to everything. Also was very impressed with property management - they went above and beyond to make us comfortable and get us everything we needed. Chickapee's cottage was our home away from home, and then some. Will definitely be coming back to stay the next time we head to Key West.

This was by far one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We would definitely stay here again! The only thing we would've liked to have seen was maybe a full length mirror somewhere in the house.

a week in january
We had a great time. The house was roomy and clean. We were approx 20 yards from Duval street with a convenience store across from us on Duval - very convenient. We had to call to have the propane tank on the gas grill replaced, we called in the morning and someone came out a couple of hours later. I would highly recommend this to a group of 4 - 6 people. The outdoor patio has a covered area with furniture, we spend most of our time there (when we weren't sleeping or 'exploring' Duval street).

amazing family vacation retreat
We had a wonderful experience. We stayed here for the week of Thanksgiving. The office was very helpful, the home was comfortable, and Key West was a lot of fun. I recommend taking advantage of the concierge services that are offered. We worked with the office to order 3 bikes to have during our trip and they were great to explore the Island. We also kayaked and jet skiied thanks to the wonderful concierge.

our family evacu-cation
After months of anticipation, my adult children and I finally made it to Key West, only to have our reunion cut short by hurricane Irma. Although we were there for a very brief stay, Chick-a-Pea's Cottage was a pure delight. It represents itself well online. The dipping pool was our favorite place to spend time as a family and that is where some of our favorite Key West memories were made.
The location was excellent. If we ever return to the Keys we would definitely stay here again. If I could make one recommendation...if traveling during hurricane season, purchase the insurance! I

quaint cottage
Cottage was in a great location. House was immaculate. So hard to believe how close to Duval this little piece of paradise is. Kids loved the pool it was big enough for 4 kids to have fun. Mattresses were so comfy.... Rental office was very responsive to our few requests including delivery of washing machine pods so I can bring home clean clothes!!!

I couldn't have asked for a better vacation home to celebrate 40th birthday's with my closest friends. Excellent location; we were a hop, skip and 1/2 jump away from Duval Street but the backyard oasis made us feel like we were on our own island. The pool area was our favorite place on the property. The property was clean and well-maintained. Kitchen was well stocked for our needs. We plan on staying at this property again when we return. We didn't need to contact the rental property owners for anything but it was nice that Danny provided us with a contact number if we ever needed anything or had problems.
Recommendations: Full length mirror somewhere in the home, outdoor Bluetooth speaker

We had a great vacation in key west:). The house was immaculately clean and beautiful! Its location was perfect. Right off duval street with all kinds of shops but couldn't hear any noise. We really enjoyed the pool and outside covered patio. We basically lived outside. Management was great and prompt when we had a parking issue. This is now our go to rental house for key west. You won't regret staying here. House Feels very private and quiet which is what we wanted after being around crowds all day��

outstanding customer service and wonderful property
We had a fantastic time at Chick a Pea Cottage. The house was exactly as advertised, well appointed, immaculate, a great size for six women on a girls’ week and the perfect location for us...just off Duval and towards the quieter end. We could easily get where we needed, were around the corner from our favorite bar and didn’t hear all the night noise.
We did have an issue with the swimming pool so Danny and Irene went out of their way to make things right. Wade also made sure we were happy. They truly were accommodating and cared about our stay. I can’t say enough about the superior level of customer service we received.
If you plan to rent while in Key West, use Historic Key West Vacation Rentals. Can’t wait to go back!

We had the best time and cannot wait go go back. The house was perfect for 3 couples, although we didn't spend much time inside. Having the pool made it so enjoyable to be outside. We were able to walk to all the things we needed to see. Will defiantly go back.

beautiful home close to duval street
My elderly father and I stayed here for a few days in April. The house was very clean and beautifully furnished. The pool was nice and being within walking distance to Duval street was a plus. My dad gets tired easy so it was nice to have the house close by. We cooked several meals there and the kitchen was stocked nicely with pots/pans/utensils.
The only thing that I didn't like was the two drunk guys that hung out (lived?) on the sidewalk across the street. They would harass me every time I walked out by myself.
The house was great, our vacation was relaxing, and we would definitely stay here again!

We had an awesome time! House was beautiful, pool warm, Phil was so accommodating. We stayed for a week and he helped with a fishing trip that my mom caught a huge grouper. Venus charters with captain Karen...look her up! Gas grill to cook on at house, and it's very close to duval but not loud at night! I'm going back just as soon as I can.

stay for a wedding
We had a great time and the house was just what we were looking for. The only complaint is that the grill wasn't working. The maintenances guy came out and said he fixed it, but it still wasn't working 100% where a gas grill was a big reason why we decided to stay there for cooking out.
