From the ease of booking, to the communication with Cindy & Tippi, to the absolutely stunning accommodations-we would 100% stay here again. The location is right in the middle of all the fun on Duval street and easily walkable to other activities. another great week in key west

Wow is what my wife and I said after walking through the front entrance.
Pool was great as was the house.
Extremely private as soon as you enter.
House was super clean and had everything you could need to stay a week there and never go out to eat, utensils and appliances.
Booking was a breeze, they’re always helpful and they checked in several times during our stay.. will book again with them in the future

Great vacation! Location, pool, cleanliness, and concierge communication were all top notch. Such a great home. Private, but very convenient to all Duvall has to offer. The only negative is the stairs to upstairs living area. Very steep. Just be aware if anyone has mobility issues.

Rental is in a awesome location in key west. Everything you need including a big pool. The steep stairs were difficult for some with bad knees. Beds were very comfortable. The only con is the taxes and fees are very high.

This house is exactly as described. Right off the action on Duval, but as soon as you enter the property, you’d never know it. The house is definitely on the pricier side but it’s all about the location. We rented a golf cart which was perfect for getting around. The pool was nice (but on the smaller side if you have a lot of kids). House was very clean and big enough for our family of 6.

something for all your moods - from retreat to all out party!

This was our first time staying at a HKWVR property... and I can tell you - what you see in the photos of the property are what you get! Up to date, clean and well maintained properties that even the pickest of renters would have a hard time finding fault with. A top notch property and a top notch staff made our experince the best ever! Thank you team HKWVR!

The Cloud Nine property offered us our own secluded oasis that was literally steps from all the action. We had the best of all worlds - we could stay within the tranquil inner suroundings of our own courtyard - enjoy the charm and warmth the immediate neighborhood had to offer or, step the pace up with Duval only a 1/2 block away.

perfect for our three couple weekend getaway!

The house was clean, comfortable, attractive and well-stocked for our long weekend family get-together. We loved the secured outdoor patio area and the heated pool, cooked a great meal in the well-equipped kitchen, and enjoyed the central location. The house was relatively quiet for being so close to Duval St. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and loved the lush green landscaping also!

well kept secret amidst the action!

From start to finish, this experience was top-notch! The host quickly emailed to confirm the no-refund policy, make a suggestion about travel insurance, and explain amenities. There was ongoing communication prior to the arrival, including status updates day of. The house is perfectly located and impeccably appointed. We found that the pizza restaurant owners next door knew the owner and spoke as highly of not only her personality but also the location. It aligned with everything we experienced. Communication was prompt, clear, and accurate. This location ensured maximum privacy right while being conveniently located to all attractions.

Our October trip to "Cloud 9" was clearly one of the best ever. From booking the trip and interacting with the professional management team to spending several days in a true Oasis, there is not a better place to stay in KW. This house is divine. The location is ideal. Being so close to Duval Street I expected it to be more noisy, but this place is surprisingly quiet. It’s a tucked away little oasis which made for a very relaxing experience. I rented bikes for the week and it was perfect.

fantastic house great location

cute house but some things to know

We stayed at the home 11/5-11/9-2021. We typically never leave reviews unless we feel there is something to add. There were 3 adult couples in our party with extensive travel experience. We chose this home based on reviews, and, while we had a great time, there are some things that should be mentioned. Here are the pros and cons:
1. Great location with perfect proximity to Duval street.
2. House is super clean and well appointed.
3. Pool is very nice.
4. With the exception of what is listed below, the home location is very quiet.
Cons:
1. Main level bedroom (upper) is small (no room for nightstand on one side) and there is no ventilation in the bathroom (there is a ceiling fan which protrudes somewhat over the shower). Very little room on the vanity for make-up, etc, and the lighting is bad. Had to put makeup on with a mirror in front of the window in the bedroom.
2. Pool area is nice, but while trying to relax after a late night, we were inundated with planes roaring low overhead. Evidently we were in the flight path for landing (we could read the plane company names on the bottom)
3. Each room has it's own split system a/c in the wall, and the one in the upper bedroom was not working. We called the management company the next day and they immediately went out and fixed it (along with the shower handle that came off). Owners of the home leave instructions not to put the units any lower than 71 degrees, so if you like to sleep cooler, then you're out of luck.
All in all, we had a really good stay, weather was great, but felt that future vacationers should know the pros AND cons. Note: Prior to our arrival, the owners asked if we wanted a king bed in the small bedroom, which was nice (vs double beds), which could have affected the nightstand situation. We enjoyed Key West, and would recommend this home.

It is an awesome home and has the largest pool of all our rentals. I will address the cons for you- 1) The nightstand usually goes between the twin beds & we only make it a king when requested. We will make note about your concerns regarding the upstairs bathroom & see what can be done! 2) As Key West is only 2 miles by 4 miles, the planes go over all the homes on the island. The hotels nearest the airport really get the noise! 3) If the A/C goes lower than 71 it can freeze up and then there is no A/C. Island living has its pros and cons as well! Please visit our awesome little island again when you can. Cindy & the HKWVR team

wow!!!

We rented this house for my 50th Birthday weekend. What a spectacular house. From the moment you come through the gate, it is all WOW factor. The pool, the house, the grounds, all amazing. There is not one negative thing to say about it. All we talked about on the way home was when we could all rent it again. The location you cannot beat - close to everything. A grocery and wine store on the next block was a bonus. The management company was wonderful and so accommodating with everything. This house made my weekend extra special. Thank you.

quiet gem just off duval street

This house was absolutely amazing. Plenty of space for our family of 5. It’s hard to believe that this house is so close to Duval Street. We were close enough to walk most places, although we also had a car which made some trips much easier to get to! The house is beautiful and clean. Property manager checked in with us to make sure all was good. It’s quiet at night which we appreciated! Would highly recommend.

very nice stay - highly recommend

The house may have been the best part of the trip. It was beautiful and clean, private and perfectly located. I would highly recommend. The pool also was a very nice escape - great to cool off in after a day around the town or on the water. Loved that somehow you were in the center of the town, yet it was perfectly quiet at night. A few bits of advice for future renters: 1) when you park, be careful opening up your drivers side doors as there is a glass window of a shop that could be hit by it - we had a close call :-), 2) I wouldn’t worry about paying the damage insurance - they mentioned expensive items throughout the house but there really isn’t anything that expensive to damage so you can save a few dollars if you want to take the risk, 3) thought the tip envelope for the cleaners was a bit tacky given the cleaning payment on vrbo, didn’t think that was appropriate or necessary. I forgot to mention to the vacation rental company that the fridge water filter needs replacement.

You can't beat the location of this property. It is basically a private compound. The pool was the place to be until time to go enjoy the night life. Everything was clean and organized. We had an amazing time and highly recommend it!

perfect home away from home!

The property is perfectly located in the heart of old town but tucked away on a quiet side street. The pool was warm and received a lot of afternoon sun. The home was very clean and stocked with all necessary items. We loved all the balconies and outdoor space. We would love to return to Cloud 9!

Cloud mine was perfect. The indoor accommodations were perfect for a group of six. Very clean and bright. Lots of different locations of outdoor seating. Very secluded property but still that plenty of sunlight in to enjoy laying out by the “perfect” pool.

neighborhood gem

The location of Cloud 9 is awesome. Steps away from Duval Street in the tony neighborhood of the 500 block of Fleming. LOVED being so near the neighborhood gourmet grocery store, UVA wine shop with wine by the glass to go, and The Roost which is the perfect neighborhood bar where they quickly learn your name!
The house is beautifully decorated and feels like someone's home, rather than a rental. The courtyard with heated pool is charming. The kitchen is well stocked.
We never got in a car the whole week we were there. Great restaurants, shopping, people watching, and nightlife. It was a great vacation. Thank you. We will be back!

fantastic house

We started the first week of January 2021. It was a fantastic way to start the new year! We couldn’t have been more happy with this house. It was in a perfect location with everything truly walkable. The only time we Uber’ed was to go to Smathers beach. The house is beautiful. You open the beautiful iron gate into the courtyard which has a ton of space. The pool is perfect. We really enjoyed using the outdoor space and all the balconies.
House itself is really pretty and well appointed. There wasn’t anything we needed.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

a beautiful home in the best location!

We were so comfortable! We traveled with our 3 grown children for what sadly what might have been our last altogether family trip (before the kids fly from the coop). What a finale we had! Even tho the weather wasn't optimal, we were happy to be so centrally located to everything Key West had to offer. We were half a block from all the action, yet it was a quiet and serene retreat. It was clean, modern, and not at all run-down as some rentals tend to be. Having our own pool was wonderful. We would recommend this place to any friend or acquaintance with complete confidence. Friendly staff too!

awesome house!

This house was perfect for us. Large 3 bed, each with own bathroom. Very clean and modern decor. All the kitchen dishes and appliances you could possibly need. Super quiet location but just 1/2 block off Duval Street where a lot of the action is and most within walking distance or short Uber ride. Heated pool was fun for us. 5 stars for this great Vrbo!

cloud 9 makes key west rock

This house is in a fantastic location being just half a block off Duval Street. The pool area is fantastic with a grill that we used. It has 3 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms which was great for the 3 couples we had sharing. It was very clean and well maintained. Check in was easy, and they sent a representative to check on us shortly after we moved in to see if everything was ok. It just happened one of the AC units was not working correctly and he quickly took care of that problem. If I ever return to Key West with other people, I will definitely check to see if Cloud 9 is available.

Property is perfectly located close to the center of Key West. Every thing you might want is walking distance. Rooms were large and each room had its own bathroom. Pool was great for the hot afternoons and the gas grill great for making dinners or lunches. Kitchen was well stock with dishes, pans, glasses, etc.

literally perfect

Clean, comfortable, well appointed vacation house. Good beds and bathrooms. Pleasant contemporary style throughout. Felt just right. Perfect location. In the middle of everything, yet quiet. We spent much of our time in Key West just hanging out in the house and especially in our private pool. The pool is set in a tropical garden of a courtyard and it is warm enough to spend the whole day in the water. We cooked inside and on the outdoor barbecue. Wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

50rh birthday weekend

Cloud 9 was perfect house and location. Comfortable for 3 adult couples. Loved the pool especially after day on Duval. Literally steps from the house courtyard is the Best pizza, convenience of full grocery at Fausto’s, as well fantastic bartender Annette at The Roost for a nite cap. Even better was the delivery of breakfast from The Keys Coffee Co. directly behind the house one street over. I highly suggest the Sunrise Taco. We will defiantly be back.

perfect oasis in the heart of key west

You definitely can't go wrong with this property!!! It's such a great feeling when you first walk in a see the gorgeous pool and tropical garden. I love the layout of the house and so many windows! The location can't be beat; right in the heart of Key West but extremely private and quiet -- walking by on the street you would never know there was such a gorgeous house just beyond the gates. The house was extremely clean, well designed and fully stocked with essential items -- I also loved the white hard-wood floors! I'll definitely book a future visit; however, it will be for a much longer stay next time!

a great rental in an excellent location

Overall, the house was great, and we would rent here again.

One of the things we really liked about this house is the location. It's half a block from Duval, but we did not hear any noise from the street, as the house is tucked away in the center of the block and provides a great deal of privacy. Also, it's only half a block from the local grocery store, which made last-minute runs for meal ingredients or bottles of wine incredibly convenient.

We ate outside by the pool almost every night, which was wonderful. The pool itself was big enough for everyone to enjoy but not so big that it stayed too cool. Each of the bedrooms had its own air conditioner, which was very nice (considering how warm it was during our stay).

The outdoor grill is electric and small, which made it a little difficult to grill for six people, but it was sufficient,. The washer and dryer are new and work very well. The internet also worked quite well.

The only issue we had was with the kitchen and its sparse utensils, cookware and serving dishes. For example, the house sleeps six, but there were only five steak knives. The same goes for the glassware (there were not six juice glasses or six highball glasses or six stemmed wine glasses). The kitchen knives were few and, frankly, cheap. The toaster only toasted on one side of the bread. If you are planning to cook, you may be a little disappointed in the kitchen. If you tend to eat out more, then it will not make much of a difference.

That being said, we did not bring the kitchen concerns above to the attention of Historic Key West Vacation Rentals, as they were relatively minor concerns in what was otherwise a great rental. There were no baking dishes and no pot holders in the kitchen when we arrived, but after we called the rental agency, they did bring these items out very quickly.

Check in was very easy, and check out was just as simple. As I stated above, we would rent her

What a lovely property - exactly as advertised and more than met our expectations! The photos do not do the property justice. Cloud 9 checked off every requirement on our list (#bedrooms/bathrooms, proximity to Duval, pool, well-stocked kitchen, washer & dryer) and we could not have been happier with the 1st class amenities. Beds were so comfortable, bathrooms were modern and functional and kitchen was perfect! We cooked in one night and we found everything we needed. There was an electric grill outside and it worked perfectly! A side benefit to our stay was enjoying the beautiful artwork on the walls throughout the house. I HIGHLY recommend this property. We were exceedingly happy with our stay and will hopefully stay here again. LOVE Key West and this location is PERFECT for a family vacation.

amazing house - perfect location - highly recommended

Context: My wife and I - along with two other adult couples - just left Cloud 9 three days ago (checked out 7/1/17). We are all late-30s and have kids, etc. but left the kiddos at home for an adult getaway.

I cannot stress enough how perfect this house is. We looked at roughly 25 homes (virtually) across all of the Keys and I can't imagine one having the total package that Cloud 9 offers.

Location: You are literally about 200 yards off Duval St. We timed the walks: 5 min to Fat Tuesdays, 7 min to Sloppy Joe's, and 10 minutes to Sunset Pier. You are literally steps from a full grocery store and a liquor store/bar. The parking is small but is big enough for a minivan. We rented bikes and did not drive our car once on the Keys except one far-away meal.

Amenities:
The property is extremely well taken care of with high-end fixtures, appliances, and common spaces. Beds are comfortable and all rooms have flat screens. Water pressure was strong and we always had hot water. Internet speed is outstanding and covered the whole house and pool area. The house came with some soaps and shampoos but they were the small hotel bottles so you likely want to bring extras. Downstairs has a great wet bar (no freezer FYI) and upstairs kitchen is full and spacious. The place comes with all pots and pans, dishes, glasses, towels (including pool towels), and linens. There is a book and instructions you'll get when you check in.

Pool:
This pool is a game changer. The temperature was perfect and it was very well maintained. It is a full six feet deep in the deepest part so you can actually swim a little. It was our favorite feature of the house.

Neighbors:
One issue we had was from a strange neighbor who takes quiet time to a new level. We informed the management company and they were aware of her. If she does show up, call the company and they'll address.

16th year visiting kw, best accommodations we've ever stayed in

In 16 consecutive visit to KW, this is the best house we have rented. Huge, gorgeous, modern, clean and in the middle of the action (without feeling like it). Very private grounds, lots of space for 3 couples who want to hang around together or retreat to separate spaces with balconies and porches. The kitchen was well appointed with new appliances and every gadget you could want. During our stay, I didn't find myself saying "I wish they had x,y,z". Check in was simple, as was check out. Staff were responsive at every step of booking, through departure.

We met our son and wife and our 2 grandsons in Key West for a 10-day vacation. The home was a perfect fit for us with 3 Bedrooms/Baths and the boys loved to play in the pool after our days adventures in and around Key West. a slice of heaven!

Pictures cannot capture the beauty of Cloud 9. It was immaculate upon arrival. Phil met us at the door and gave us a tour of the property. The location was perfect - private, secure and very quiet given it is 1/2 block from Duval. Great dining at Louie's Backyard and La Trattoria, along with the local hot spots. Bi-plane tour of the area was incredible. LOVE LOVE LOVE Key West and would definitely recommend Cloud 9.

perfect summer vacation!

Everything at Cloud 9 was more than we expected. The pool, bedrooms, and living area were underrepresented in photos and were much larger than I had expected.
The unit is steps from busy Duval Street, yet we never heard a single peep of traffic or tourist.
I am already ready to book our return visit--and would love to stay at Cloud 9 again & again!

absolutely splendid

I cannot recommend this property highly enough. That sounds glib, but as someone who's traveled a bit and stayed in a lot of rental properties, this one was marvelous. The central location was nothing short of perfect, the house was spacious, clean, and deliciously modern (reminds me of the type of house you'd rent in Europe), and I cannot commend Phil, our concierge and the property representative, highly enough. He was quick to respond and help out in any capacity, and did so with politeness and humor. He deserves kudos. Stay here and use HKWV and talk with Phil - you won't regret it!

loved, loved, loved this beautiful house in key west

This place was absolutely perfect for my husband, I and two grown daughters. We stayed here April 21-27, 2016. The location cannot be beat and the house is gorgeous. The owners spared no expense and you can tell. The private, lush landscaped, courtyard with a heated pool made us feel so special. We used it everyday. I would love to come back to Key West and stay here. Our private concierge, Phil, was awesome. We could contact him at anytime and get help or suggestions. The housekeeping did a bang up job cleaning this huge house. I also like all the special balconies that were employed. I can't think of anything I would have changed. The beds were super comfy. TV's in every room, not that we watched any TV! We were too busy eating awesome food and taking in the sunsets! This rental is high end and therefore a bit expensive, however, everyone should splurge once in a while for this extra-special experience. No regrets here!

great getaway!!

Everything was great. Only a few items; I couldn't get the outdoor grill to work and the problem with our vehicle was a little problem. All in all we had a great time and Phil was a great help!
