perfect kw stay
Potter’s cottage is the perfect location if you want to experience all kinds of Key West attractions. Everything is walkable from this spot and it was also quiet at night for sleeping. The house was well equipped, clean and provided plenty of space for four adults. We enjoyed the backyard every day of our stay from coffee and breakfast in the morning to afternoon pool time and then late night card playing with cocktails. We had a great time!!

Charming cottage-KW vibes! Cottage is in a great location-walkable to Southernmost, action on Duval, great restaurants and Higgs Beach.
A quiet respite as well if you choose. Indoor decor was comfortable and well maintained-especially loved the cozy side library space. The pool was the perfect size with lots of sunny areas and cozy shaded seating-ceiling fans were a huge plus.
Communication from management company throughout the booking and stay was fantastic. We will be back!

This house was perfect for my girls trip for 3. It was nicely decorated, very clean and provided everything we needed. The pool area was a must for an afternoon break, especially since we visited during record high temperatures. Restaurants and shopping was close by so we could walk most places, which we also appreciated. Absolutely perfect in all respects, no negatives. Management company was accessible if needed.

a charming cottage in old town key west
We had a great stay at Potters Cottage! The house is well appointed and wonderfully maintained. It was perfect for our family of 4. There are 2 beds plus three sitting areas with couches (1 pulls out). The furniture inside and out was comfortable! The kitchen had everything we needed to make and serve Easter dinner- we were thrilled. The pool was literally a step away and was a great place to relax and refresh at any time. The washer and dryer were large and easy to use. Two minor drawbacks- the house does not come with parking or a residential permit. We were never able to grab the spot in front of the house. The upstairs bedroom area is accessible by a narrow, step staircase which may be challenging for some travelers. The rental company, Historic Key West Vacation Rentals, was great to work with. We look forward to returning!

loved this cozy cottage
Potter's Cottage was in a great location and was perfect for our 5 day New Year's vacation. It was very clean, well-appointed and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the pool too! We liked that it was just a block off the quieter end of Duval, and we easily walked or biked to everything we wanted to do. The room with the pullout couch had doors for privacy and was just big enough for the bed unfolded, but my 5'11" son said it was very comfortable, and he was happy in there. One thing to note is the steps to the upstairs bedroom are steep, so this is not a cottage for someone who has issues with stairs.
We really appreciated the help of the wonderful staff at HKWVR planning our first trip to Key West!

clean, comfortable.little cottage with a pool
It was easy & everything went smoothly. The home was very lovely and cute. Small but relaxing outside area with a small soaking pool. We had everything we needed. Downstairs bathroom nlis huge with large shower. Upstairs bathroom is small, shower requires people not to be very tall, fyi. We had 7 palmetto bugs on night one in the upstairs bathroom, but rental company sent someone to handle the next day and that got rid of them. They arranged bikes to be delivered which was great. It's a great location just a block and half from Hemingway House. Whitehead is a busy street but you wouldn't know itnfrom inside the cottage.. its well insulated. We had a lovely time.

Perfect space for a five-night family stay. Walking distance of all major attractions on the island. Rental company was easy to work with. Cocktail pool was a plus. Would note that the stairs to the upstairs area were a little steep but they are sturdy and safe - just may impact bedroom choice during your stay. Cottage is bright and welcoming. Would definitely recommend

amazing trip!
My family and I decided to getaway for a quick trip and we couldn't have picked a better place. What a wonderful home and PERFECT location. A buddy and I planned a trip to celebrate our wives’ 50th birthday. We rented Potters Cottage from HKWVR for our stay in Key West. Best move we could have made. Both wives were so happy and the husbands are calling this a Big Win. To a person, everyone that we interacted with at Historic Key West was so friendly and helpful, and most importantly, they joined our mission to make sure the ladies had a great time. The pool needed a good vacuum but it was the fall so leaves are to be expected. But the bottom was not as clean as it could be. Just needed a vacuum and a sweep of the pool deck

cutest little cottage
Great location near shops, restaurants, and nightlife. The Duval loop stop right next to the cottage makes destinations out of walking distance easily accessible. The house itself had everything we needed and the pool was an amazing treat after a full day out and about. The two bedrooms and a small side room was plenty of room for my family of 5. We made great memories and we hope to be back soon!

perfect location in key west
This beautiful cottage home has everything you need and then some. My sister and I were thrilled with the location as there were many restaurants, shops activities right around the corner. There is even a cute little gallery next door. We enjoyed the beautiful backyard relaxing in the pool and spent a good amount of time on the porch “people watching”. There is also a beautiful view of the lighthouse that never gets old. The location was so wonderful that we didn’t even use our car during our stay. The property managers were fantastic & beyond helpful. We can’t wait to book this wonderful property again. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us. We had a great time in Key West!!!

great vacation!
This is the second time I've rented Potter's Cottage for our Key West vacation. The house is very cute and comfortable with everything we needed. It's within walking distance of many attractions (Hemingway House, Lighthouse, and Southernmost Point) and great restaurants. This year, we spent more time sitting on the front porch watching passersby than we spent in the pool (...not that the pool wasn't great, though.)
The staff was always very helpful and quick to respond to all my questions.

Potters cottage is a great place to stay just a few blocks from Duval and some great restaurants like Moondog and Ramshead Siuthernmost. It’s quite comfortable for two couples who want to relax and enjoy the quiet of being off Duval Street while being minutes from all the activity. perfect cottage and location
We are so pleased with our choosing of Potters cottage with Historic Key West Vacation Rentals. It was a last minute and quick trip down from GA but we will absolutely be back to Potters Cottage. The location is perfect and our 2 girls had a blast in the pool. It’s small but just right for lounging. The front porch is great for a cup of coffee or glass of wine. The house had everything needed for cooking and serving. If you forget something small, there is a circle K only 2 min walk that has most things. We rented a golf cart from the company across from the circle k and it was perfect to cruise around on. Excited to go back!

I rented this adorable little cottage for myself and 3 of my best friends to celebrate our 50th birthdays this year. The cottage is in a perfect location - blocks from Southernmost Point and only 1 block over from Duval Street. It has everything you might need. It was wonderful to come home from a hot day of walking and be able to go straight to the little pool to cool off and have some cocktails and rest before heading out again. Would definitely stay here again!

Potter’s Cottage was perfect for my trip with a friend. It’s in a great location - one block off of Duval but still quiet enough for peaceful lounging on the deck and quiet time for sleeping. House was as described. Pictures definitely make it look alot bigger. Great location. No need to rent a car, as you can walk to everything. Outside deck by the pool could have been cleaner. Daily pooping iguanas and pigeons made a mess that we needed to hose off daily. All the rooms were as described. A/C upstairs sounds like a jet plane when on. Very noisy. Overall, would stay here again and would recommend to anyone to stay.

great rental
We rented the cottage for 3 days in early May. We loved the place and will likely return with our children in a year. It was only two of us there for our anniversary trip, but the house would be great for two couples or a family of 4-6.
Kitchen is reasonably well appointed, and the grill is new and performed well. Furnishings and bedroom were all good. Linens of good quality. Outdoor shower was lovely and the plunge pool was great—small but deep. The backyard got great sun during the day, but the trees and lanai provide good shade if you don’t want to bake. We have been in key west many times and we always stay on Duval. I was very surprised by how quiet the backyard was at night.
Lastly, the management company was very easy to work with. Fantastic service from them.

Enjoyed Potters cottage very much. Central location easy to walk to majority of landmarks on the island. We were a party of five and the layout of the cottage works great did not feel cramped at all. This was a great house. Had everything we needed and more. Pool was very comforting and help me work out back issues after a long flight. Description and puctures were as advertised. Only thing i would point out is the stairs to second floor were very steep. This place is also right off main road into key west US1. Great location to the best areas of key west without being in the crowded noisy areas. It was nice to have our own place away from COVID possibilities.

The rental office was superb! Great communication before, during and after our stay. Clean, had everything you could need. Walking distance to most everything but not the noise. Ceiling fans on the covered patio were perfect to keep cool and still sit when it was raining.

lovely stay!
We rented this cottage over NYE with another couple. It is adorable and we really enjoyed our stay. The location is great - just a block off Duval. It was very quiet. The pool was great. Two bedroom and two bathrooms. The upstairs is essentially a loft with a bedroom, sitting area and bathroom. The upstairs bathroom is quite small but it worked for us. The 1st floor bathroom is huge. We will definitely consider returning. Just an FYI - the stairs to the loft are a bit steep so they need to be navigated with care.

great little "home away from home!"
Potter's Cottage was very clean and well maintained, and exactly as advertised. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything you needed for your stay and the pool, with both shaded and sunny seating areas was perfect! beautiful cottage & relaxing pool
The cottage is wonderful. My husband and I stayed her for a week while our children were at sea camp. Everything was clean and neat. The interior is update and well done. We were there in early August so we used the pool every day. The location is perfect because it is quiet yet close to all the shops and restaurants and out of the super "touristy" loud bar, bad food scene. I was a little frustrated with the management company on a couple of things but the staff was very helpful and professional. I did not like the deposit process from Key west. I thought $3,000 was excessive and told them I thought that was high and they said they could take a $60 non-refundable fee in lieu of charging my card. I find this just another charge. Also they did not meet us at the unit and we had to drop the key off at their office 10 blocks away. This is very inconvenient when you have luggage as there is as parking is difficult to find so you have the walk. I also think the service fee VRBO now implements since under new management is excessive.

A wonderful time was had in Key West recently. Potter’s Cottage was the perfect choice for two couples. It is a lovely, well appointed property. We couldn’t have survived the July heat without the plunge pool. It was a welcome treat to come to after all of our walking and site seeing. Historic Key West Vacation Rental staff were so helpful and courteous. My only small “grumble” was having to use an offsite luggage storage service for our last day. It would have been much more convenient to leave it at the rental office. I would definitely recommend Potter’s Cottage to anyone visiting Key West.

We absolutely LOVED Potter's Cottage. The perfect location and yet still so quiet and relaxing. We lounged by the pool and enjoyed some much needed R&R. We spent the weekend here for our friends birthday and this 2 bed / 2 bath home was perfect. Very clean. Well kept. Smack dab in the middle of old town. Walking distance to everything. It was end of July and very hot so coming back from being out and jumping into the dipping pool was ideal. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for something quiet and cozy. Also, the property management company was very accommodating and thorough.

We were 5 adults traveling to Key West for a weekend wedding and Potters Cottage was great for our stay. One single adult slept on the (never really comfortable but manageable) pull out sofa in the den and the other two couples each had a bedroom. The beds were very comfortable. The cottage was charming and beautifully decorated. Plenty of room for two couples. Potter's Cottage was wonderful! It had everything you could possibly need, even a shy iguana that would peak through the trees every now and then. The pool was a life saver on those hot and humid August days. My only caution is that the stairs to the loft bedroom are quite steep and narrow. I slept up there (the bed was great), but stayed downstairs any other time. The bonus room made a great changing area. My son and I can not wait to return next year!

Beautiful home. This is clearly a home the owner cares about, well furnished and decorated, not just cheap furniture and a few posters. The home is beautiful, well furnished and comfortable. Historic Key West Vacation Rentals was a pleasure to deal with, responding quickly to any questions, check-in and check out was quick and helpful. House was as described and better. House can easily and comfortably sleep 6. Kitchen is a good, workable size. Downstairs bathroom shower is huge, upstairs shower is on the small side but fine. Smart TV with cable (we appreciated being able to log in to our Netflix acct when we wanted to watch a particular movie) in the living room, cable tv in each bedroom. Pool and patio are the gems. Large plunge pool, covered and uncovered patio areas with overhead fans (we're from the NW, not used to the humidity in Key West, the pool was a Godsend), very private, lots of chairs and loungers.Washer and dryer are located outside in a cabinet, very quiet. One caution, the stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep and narrow, would not be great for the elderly or young children. House is very close (a couple of blocks) to the Hemingway House, Lighthouse, Southernmost Point, DuVal Street, great restaurants and the best conch salad on the planet (Johnson's Grocery, trust me). We could not have been happier with the house or Historic Key West Rentals. This one is a gem.

Loved the cottage had a great experience. The only thing that would make it better would be softer bed, (very stiff,) and cooler temp in the pool. Don't know if the pool was heated or it was the sun? Oh and maybe Salt and Pepper and sugar packets.

perfect
We (two couples) spent the Memorial Day weekend in Key West at the Potter's Cottage.
It was everything that we wanted and more. The unit is located at a great location and, despite being on Whitehead (a busy street) there was no annoying street noise.
The kitchen was well-equipped, the rooms comfortable and the pool was fabulous.
I would highly recommend it!

potter's cottage
We recently stayed at Potter's Cottage on our first ever trip to Key West. It was the perfect place for us! The property is perfectly located for people who want to be walking distance to all the major attractions but want a little space from all the noise of upper Duval. The Cottage is charming. It is beautifully decorated with all the amenities you need. The pool and patio are a perfect place to relax at the end of a busy day sightseeing. My only qualification would be for people with limited mobility or who have trouble climbing stairs. The master bedroom is wonderful but the stairs are quite steep so if that would be an issue it might not be the best place to stay. Otherwise it was perfect. Danny was our concierge and helpfully gave us several suggestions of places to eat and they were all fabulous.

Fantastic cottage. Just far enough off Duval, but close enough by bike. Perfect property for our family. Master suite is ideal. Our 2 daughters had their space as well. Updated appliances, cutlery, TVs, patio furniture, towels, bathrooms... hesitant to share such a glowing review as we want to come back.

a relaxing week
This was our 2nd stay at Potter's in 3 months. This is a wonderful cottage, with all the amenities you would ever need. The house is ideal for 2 couples with one bedroom downstairs and one upstairs providing some additional privacy. There is a wonderful deck and covered area around the pool (we spent more time here then in the house!). The management company provided us with 2 nice lounge chairs for the pool, as the other seats are chairs and not designed for sunbathing. The house is in an ideal location just a block off Duval St and a block from Hemingway's home and the lighthouse. You are very centrally located here making it a easy walk to anywhere in old town. We will be back to Potter's cottage again!

Wonderful cottage with delightful fenced in deck/pool/lanai area. Loved the front porch for coffee in morning and people watching at night. Perfect distance from Duval and other amenities. Comfy cottage and nicely decorated. If you have bad knees, plan on staying in the ground level bedroom. Stairs to upstairs are a bit steep but fine if you're in shape.

Very cute and very well laid out cottage.
The location is perfect, but not too close to the tourist areas to be loud.
The plunge pool is a good size, and I recommend the option of having it heated in the winter.
Perfect for two couples and even a fifth person, with the little side room.

Our rental experience was acceptable even with a couple of issues. We would recommend this agency. We will consider using them when we vacation in Key West again (like next year). We especially were thankful for the cleanliness of the house. We enjoyed the decor and furniture inside and outside. It was very cool and tropical! Having upper end quality bed collections, towels, etc. is ideal for us. The location was quiet. We enjoy walking so the distance to Sloppy Joes, etc. did not bother us. Sure wish the pool was bigger. Then Potter's Cottage would be perfect. The managers were great, friendly and had attention to details. Yea!

great cottage in a great location
Our family of five recently rented the Potter's Cottage for a week in July. We knew that it was on the smaller side, but there was actually plenty of room for all of us. We loved the location, which was an easy walking distance to restaurants, etc. on Duval, as well as several beaches that we enjoyed. The pool was a great addition due to the very warm weather. It was great to have Phil to make suggestions and assist with our reservations for dinner, etc.. He is a great asset to HKWVR. On our next visit to Key West, we would definitely rent this cottage again.

potters cottage review
We thought the property was lovely and we loved the location. On several occasions the neighbors behind caused quite a disturbance. The guest bedroom mattress is hard as a rock which not quite so comfortable. Would like a TV or at least some type of speaker to be able to enjoy music on the deck around the pool. Loved the front porch and enjoyed people watching. Would definitely stay there again!
